If ever there was a multi-crafter, it is Fransie Snyman. She is the author of various craft books, including the latest Frames Galore as well as Cards Galore, Boxes Galore, Polymer Clay Projects and Card Making Sketches. We caught up with Fransie to talk about crafts galore…
Favourite craft: I really love all crafts! But if there are any new crafty things available, I will try it!
Best craft tool ever made: Any guillotine – I just can’t cut straight with scissors.
Favourite shop for craft goodies: I usually shop at PNA for craft goodies, but I often shop online at Scrap-a-doodles.
Favourite place to craft: I’ve got a room in the house with lots of cupboards and working space, so I normally craft there.
Favourite time to craft: Whenever I’ve got time…but often late at night.
Where did the inspiration for ‘Frames Galore’ come from?
My family is expanding and I will soon be the granny of three – so I need frames for photographs. But I also realised that you don’t need to frame only photographs. The lovely tea set on page 109 of the book and the framed brooches on page 125, were my mother’s.
What is your favourite project in the book?
The vintage frame, because there are a few interesting techniques involved.
Any project that was just too big a flop that it didn’t make the book?
Luckily not, in crafts one usually turns flops into something spectacular.
